The Knifemaker. A beautiful example of hands-on skills.

A DIY BATPOD! The Vietnamese version.

The DIY abilities of human beings astonish me every day.  Just recently I found another amazing example on YouTube.  Those that have seen the Batman movies are well aware of the super-cool (but not realistic) Batpod motorcycle.  Something the studios spent tens of thousand of dollars making. 600 jobs go unfilled, at one company!

John Stossel has been a long time news reporter and is a consumer advocate.  He does a great job of uncovering the truth and reveals misconceptions we all may share.  He has written some fantastic books, such as: Give Me A Break, Myths Lies and Downright Stupidity and No, They Cant!  I’d highly recommend reading all three, but be prepared to discover how much we are being deceived. Let your kids do dangerous things!

I love TED TALKS. “TED” Stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design. They are 5-25 minute videos of presentations done by some of the most fascinating people I have ever heard. The subjects range from African Culture, to Autism, to Engineering, to Polar Ice, and much more.   With over 500 “talks” in existence, it’s hard to find the best or the ones most applicable to this website.  But I have been slowing making my way through all of them.
