  • Our classes are open to everyone 14 years and up. Beginners are absolutely welcome.

$20 (+ tax) materials fee. This class is a very practical electronics primer containing minimal theory and a great deal of practical knowledge. The class starts off with a basic introduction into electronics, electronic components, power and current. The majority of the class focuses on building several circuits in order to teach you how to become familiar with circuit prototyping. Subjects covered in this class are: basic components (resistors, capacitors, switches), reading an electronics schematic, drawing your own schematics, and building a prototype. A Make & Take class.

$29 (+ tax) materials fee. In this class, students will learn more about reading electronic schematics and how to assemble electronic circuits. Students will also learn more about components like resistors, capacitors, and diodes and how they work together. A Make & Take class. Class 05-105 Pre-Req.

$37 (+ tax) materials fee. In this class, students gain hands on experience using the cornerstone of modern electronics...the transistor. Students will learn the basic theory of transistors and build circuits demonstrating the versatility of this solid state component. A Make & Take class. Class 05-110 Pre-Req

$50 (+ tax) materials fee. In this class, students work with the 555 timer and 741 operational amplifier integrated circuit chips. Students will gain a foundation in handling and use of integrated circuits. As a Make and Take class, students will build circuits such as a toy organ and Electromagnetic Frequency (EMF) detector. Class 05-115 Pre-Req

$20 (+ tax) materials fee. This class covers the use of soldering tools, accessories, proper soldering techniques, and methods for correcting mistakes. We will also cover wire soldering, best practices, and handy tips. This is mandatory knowledge for all DIY electronics projects and classes but can also be used for many other purposes such as jewelry making and art. A Make & Take class. Class 05-105 highly recommended, but not required.

$55 (+ tax) materials fee. This class, specifically for kids (ages 10 to 14), will focus on the simple basics of: electronics concepts (resistors, capacitors, switches), power and current, reading an electronics schematic, and a little about drawing your own schematics. Students will also learn about safety and build several different electronics circuits. Every student will take home a complete Snap Circuits Electronics kit.

$75 (+ tax) materials fee. In this class, students will learn more about reading electronic schematics and how to assemble electronic circuits. Students will also learn more about components like resistors, capacitors, diodes and transistors and how they work together. A Make & Take class. Class 05-205 Pre-Req.

$65 (+ tax) materials fee. This class will familiarize students with the Arduino single board computer. We cover the capabilities of the Arduino Uno, how to connect it to external electronics and programming for specific functions. Class will also cover code examples and loading these programs onto the Arduino. The student will also learn basic digital and analog input and output for controlling external electronics. Students will keep the Arduino and accessory kit used in class. Class 05-105 is highly recommended. A Make & Take class.

$85 (+ tax) materials fee. This class will introduce several different types of input sensors (motion, distance, acceleration, temperature & light) using different input methods including analog, digital and serial.The materials fee provides an Arduino 101, sensors and support parts. Class 05-405 is a prerequisite. Classes 05-105 and 05-110 are highly recommended.

$105 (+ tax) materials fee. This class will familiarize students with the Raspberry Pi single board computer. We cover the capabilities of the Ras-Pi and progress into having the students perform the initial set up and configuration. Once functional, we will cover writing your first few programs and demonstrate how to do some basic digital input and output for controlling external electronics. Students will keep the Raspberry Pi and accessory kit used in class. Class 05-105 Pre-req. 11-105 or equivalent programming experience is highly recommended. A Make & Take class.

$35 (+ tax) materials fee. This class will introduce several different types of input sensors (motion, distance, acceleration) that can be connected to the Raspberry Pi. The class will cover hands-on examples on how to connect and program for 3 different categories of sensors including digital, serial, and timing based sensors. The materials fee provides a complete electronics kit for this class. Classes 05-110 & 05-705 Pre-Req. Class 11-105 Highly recommended (or equivalent experience). NOTE: Student is REQUIRED to bring the RasPi and accessories from class 05-705! (Additional kits are available for purchase if necessary).

$35 (+ tax) materials fee. This class extends the Sensors 1 class and will introduce some new types of input sensors (temperature & light). The class will cover hands-on examples on how to connect and program for two different categories of sensors including analog and resistive based sensors, as well as utilizing an external analog-to-digital conversion IC. The materials fee provides a complete electronics kit for this class. Class 05-710 Pre-Req. Class 11-105 Highly recommended (or equivalent experience). NOTE: Student is REQUIRED to bring the RasPi and accessories from class 05-705! (Additional kits are available for purchase if necessary).

$50 (+ tax) materials fee. This class will introduce the basics of utilizing relays, DC motors, stepper motors, and servos with the Raspberry Pi. The class will cover hands-on examples on how to connect these electromechanical devices and support electronics, and create programs for controlling them. The materials fee provides a complete electronics kit for this class. Classes 05-110, 05-705 Pre-Req. Class 11-105 Highly recommended (or equivalent experience). NOTE: Student is REQUIRED to bring the RasPi and accessories from class 05-705! (Additional kits are available for purchase if necessary).

$40 (+ tax) materials fee. This class will show several ways of electronically dislaying information with the Raspberry Pi. The class will cover hands-on examples of how to connect 7-segment LED displays, LCD character displays, and LCD graphic displays, along with the required support electronics. Code examples will be given for controlling each of them. The materials fee provides a complete electronics kit for this class. Classes 05-105, 05-705 Pre-Req. Class 11-105 Highly recommended (or equivalent experience). NOTE: Student is REQUIRED to bring the RasPi and accessories from class 05-705! (Additional kits are available for purchase if necessary).

$40 (+ tax) materials fee. This class will show several ways of communicating wirelessly with the Raspberry Pi. The class will cover hands-on examples of how to utilize Bluetooth, Infrared, Zigbee, and 2.4 Ghz Transceivers, along with the required support electronics. Code examples will be given for communicating with each of them. The materials fee provides a complete electronics kit for this class. Classes 05-105, 05-705 Pre-Req. Class 11-105 Highly recommended (or equivalent experience). NOTE: Student is REQUIRED to bring the Raspberry Pi and accessories from class 05-705! (Additional kits are available for purchase if necessary).

$50 (+ tax) materials fee. Professional Development class for educators. Learn how to utilize the power and fexibility of the Raspberry Pi with the ease of use that the Snap Circuits electronic components offer. Classes 05-110, 05-205, 05-705 Pre-Req. Class 11-110 Highly recommended (or equivalent experience). NOTE: Student is REQUIRED to bring the Raspberry Pi and accessories from class 05-705 and Snap Circuit Kit from class 05-205! (Additional kits are available for purchase if necessary).

Professional Development class for educators. Instructor guided collaboration class utilizing the Raspberry Pi with the Snap Circuits electronic components. Students will work through projects on their own with the assistance of the instructor as neccessary. Class 05-780 Pre-Req. NOTE: Student is REQUIRED to bring the Raspberry Pi and accessories from class 05-705, Snap Circuit Kit from class 05-205, and Snap Circuit accessories from class 05-780! (Additional kits are available for purchase if necessary).
