  • Our classes are open to everyone 14 years and up. Beginners are absolutely welcome.
  • Please wear closed-toe shoes. Some classes have additional clothing requirements.

$15 (+ tax) materials fee. This class covers some basics of wood shop skills. Learn the differences in softwoods, hardwoods, plywood, exotic woods, man made sheet goods, and more. This class also covers adhesives (used in woodworking), common hardware, the very basics of woodworking hand tools and abrasives. Students will learn to use a biscuit joiner to create a simple frame. A Make & Take class. THIS CLASS GIVES MEMBERS ACCESS TO: Use the tools and equipment covered in this class.

$20 (+ tax) materials fee. This class will teach the basics and safety of using certain powered hand tools and equipment in the wood shop. These tools are used for shaping, sanding, and finishing your projects. Students will create a box using the pocket hole jig and air nailer. Students will create a simple box. Class 15-105 Pre-Req. A Make & Take class. THIS CLASS GIVES MEMBERS ACCESS TO: power hand tools (hand drills, Kreg tool, air nailer, hand router), power sanders (belt and disc, mounted or handheld), and other tools covered in this class.

$20 (+ tax) materials fee. This class will teach students the basics and safety of using the (powered stationary) woodworking saws in the wood shop. This includes the table saw, panel saw, and miter saw. This will enable any beginning woodworker make successful basic cuts and joints . Students will use their new skills to create a shadow box. Class 15-110 Pre-Req. A Make & Take class. THIS CLASS GIVES MEMBERS ACCESS TO: The SawStop table saw (with standard blades), miter saw, vertical panel saw, and more. Table saw, panel saw, miter saw, band saw (for basic opereations) and other tools and covered in this class.

$20 (+ tax) materials fee. This class will teach students the basics of using the woodworking support equipment. Safe and correct use of routers, drill presses, and jointers will be covered. This equipment is use to cut, shape, and do many other amazing things with your wood pieces and projects. Students will use their new skills along with the scroll saw to create a wood panel poster frame. Class 15-115 Pre-Req. A Make & Take class. THIS CLASS GIVES MEMBERS ACCESS TO: The spiral jointer, drill press, router, and other tools covered in this class.

$20 (+ tax) materials fee. This class will teach students basic and safe use of a wood lathe, including proper use of chisels, gouges, and scrapers. Basic lathe tool sharpening will also be covered. Students will turn a wood blank in to a wood mallet. Class 15-105 Pre-Req. A Make & Take Class. THIS CLASS GIVES MEMBERS ACCESS TO: Wood lathes for "in between center turning." (aka, spindle turning) and other tools covered in this class.

$20 (+ tax) materials fee. This class teaches further lathe skills, but now applied to bowl or platter shaped objects. Students will learn how to use a lathe faceplate and chuck, new machine capabilities, other lathe tools and tips. Students will also have the opportunity to create a unique small bowl. Class 15-205 Pre-Req. A Make & Take Class. THIS CLASS GIVES MEMBERS ACCESS TO: Using faceplates and lathe chucks to use with our lathes and other operations covered in this class.

$20 (+ tax) materials fee. "Boxes" (also known as a round storage container with hollow centers) are a popular wood turning project. In this class you will learn how to properly use a lathe chuck to hold wood blanks and other essential lathe skills. You will then have the opportunity to create your very own container. Class 15-210 Pre-Req. A Make & Take Class. THIS CLASS GIVES MEMBERS ACCESS TO: Using lathe chucks with our lathes and other operations covered in this class.

$35 (+ tax) materials fee. This class goes over stains, dyes, waxes, oils, paints, and many more techniques used to put beautiful or protective finishes on woods. Every finish varies in preperation, care, safety, durability, and aesthetics. This class will go over what the common uses are for each finish as well as how to choose the correct finish for your project. Students will try several methods in class and take home a cutting board or cheese platter. Class 15-105 highly reccomended. Make & Take class!
